My Story

Paralegal Shivani Daudia and Solicitor Victoria Lea-Holton are representing Brethertons Solicitors, running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2023 for Goalball UK.

Goalball UK are a charity and national governing body for the paralympic sport of goalball in the UK. They provide and promote opportunities for blind and partially sighted people to get involved with a unique team sport. Goalball is more than the sport though, it builds confidence, community, fitness and lasting friendships.

Each year, our firm chooses a charity to support throughout the year.

At our last staff conference, our colleague Jules Mackenzie put forward Goalball UK as one of the nominated charities. This charity has had a massive impact personally, upon the life, purpose and self-esteem of Jules’ son Max. Losing his sight as a young teenager was a daunting, life changing and frightening place to be. Goalball UK have connected him to other visually impaired individuals who have guided and mentored him, showing him through sport, friendship, and camaraderie that there is a community where Max can thrive and laugh; elevating him to also thrive in all areas of his life. Jules sincerely believes that Goalball just might have saved his life!

Our firm were moved by Jules’ speech and as a result we chose to fundraise for this fantastic charity.

We would really appreciate any donations 😊

Thank you.
